1960
Company founded by George Bezdan
In the early years, George traveled to serve customers with architectural specialties like bleachers and lockers. The company evolved to provide unique railing products that could be made available at a fair price. The first Geo. Bezdan catalog was printed to serve a new clientele of metal fabricators.
1988
Margaret Bezdan comes on board
Margaret joins the company under the mentorship of her father, sharing his entrepreneurial spirit and dedication. With fresh insight and desire for continual innovation and growth, Margaret now serves as CEO making Bezdan a second-generation family business.
1991
Carolyn Levesque joins the team
Margaret hires new employee, Carolyn Levesque, to help with the business. Now serving as the President, Carolyn is Bezdan’s longest serving employee and remains dedicated to the company's vision and commitment to exceptional customer service.
2007
Lobbying for Change and New Product Lines
Margaret Bezdan and her team spearheaded changes to Canada's National Building Code. Bezdan introduces cable railing systems providing a modern, low maintenance railing solution. Bezdan broadens its selection of The TimeLine® ready to install, hollow tube balusters.
2002
New Products, New Headquarters and a Website
Introduction of a new proprietary brand, The TimeLine®, composed of finished balusters, baluster collars, and handrail brackets. Bezdan moves to a larger facility for more efficient operations. Bezdan launches online with its first digital catalog, website and newly branded logo.
2000
Expansion Plans and Glen McCann joins the team
Bezdan established an eastern warehouse location and a sales team to improve service offerings to its customers. Glen McCann, Bezdan's second longest serving employee, joins as the lead sales representative for eastern USA.
2012
Expanding the Business: Bricks and Clicks
A new e-commerce website is launched to offer customers a seamless shopping experience, both online and offline. Product offerings grow to include stainless steel railing components. Bezdan moves to an even larger facility to better serve customers with more in-stock products.
2015
National Building Code Changes and New Virtual Designer Tool
Bezdan succeeds in changing Canada's National Building Code articles for guards to remove a significant restriction on ornamental guard design. Launch of the TimeLine Designer Tool which allows customers to mix and match pieces and visualize designs of finished spindles and balusters.
Today
Today and Future Innovation and Growth
Bezdan launches black stainless steel components for glass railings, a first for the industry. A new proprietary brand of cable fittings, Bezdan Cable, is introduced. Bezdan launches a new website with faster, more secure shopping, compatible across all devices including desktop and mobile.
