Update: Ontario Building Code & Horizontal Railing Design
-
Share:
In November 2021, Bezdan contacted industry professionals to support the proposed changes to harmonize the Ontario Building Code (OBC) with the National Building Code 2015 (NBC) for guard rails.
The proposed harmonization is still pending. This change, already accepted in all other Canadian provinces, will allow horizontal elements like cable rail in guard design.
Bezdan played a crucial role in effecting the NBC changes. These provinces and territories can embrace horizontal and ornamental railing designs—effective dates as listed. Learn more about harmonization and code adoptions.
